Each month the Marina Library screens a variety of films to meet our diverse audiences. Each movie screening is free and refreshments for attendees are provided.
Our monthly Indie Arthouse film events are for the moviegoer interested in seeing films that are not blockbusters. We strive to give our community a unique experience with different types of contemporary films that you can’t see at the local movie theater. Typically held on the second Saturdays of the month from 2:30 – 4:30 pm.
Our monthly Classic Matinees are for movie lovers who appreciate timeless films. Each month we pick a classic title ranging in decade from the 1930’s to the 1990’s. Some of these films are well known and others may have been shadowed during their initial time of release but have recently been re-examined as important films. Screenings are typically held on the third Saturday of the month from 2:30 – 4:30 pm.
Our Family Movie Nights are for local families to enjoy together! Although streaming movies at home are much easier these days there is nothing like joining a room full of other families to watch a recent blockbuster or family classic. We arrange chairs as auditorium style but also spread out carpets for little ones who want to feel just as comfortable as home. Screenings are typically held on the third or fourth Thursday of the month from 4 – 6 pm.
Our Saturday Morning Cartoons events are an homage to the simpler times when little ones would wake up on Saturdays and run to the family TV to watch the latest cartoons. We revisit classic cartoons from as early as 1940’s to more recent contemporary animated adventures. We arrange chairs as auditorium style but also spread out carpets for little ones who want to feel just as comfortable as home. Screenings are typically held on the third or fourth Saturday of the month from 10 – 11:30 am.
